This January recruitment period is always a time of significant speculation and possible major deals. Numerous notable footballers find themselves connected to moves out of their present clubs. Here is a look at some of the major figures that could be changing clubs this month.

A. Semenyo

Despite Ghana's failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, which has left the forward available, reports suggest a significant transfer is imminent. Recent developments indicate Manchester City are now the frontrunners for his services. This England centre-back has continued to excel for Palace this season a previous transfer to Anfield collapsing. Additionally, there have been rumours from Spain that he is prepared to take a reduced salary for a switch to Real Madrid.

This veteran Germany goalkeeper finds himself as the third option at Barcelona under new manager Flick. Having lost his place and undergone an operation, a winter departure looks increasingly likely. Aston Villa were once linked as a potential suitor, but that option now appears unlikely. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be expressing interest in the 33-year-old.

Ivan Toney
